Tour of the Ernst Leitz Museum
How can certain motifs be captured in a photograph and what factors can influence images? What is anamorphosis and why is Steve McCurry the patron of the wind tunnel? This tour invites you to complement your visit to the interactive Ernst Leitz Museum with in-depth information and to become more aware of your surroundings.
In 45 minutes, our tour guide will lead you through the different areas of the museum. The first two areas deal with the basics of photography and the technology and history behind the Leica brand. The third area highlights various photographic design elements and invites you to try them out. And the fourth area takes you to a special exhibition - currently on the life of the inventor of the original Leica, Oskar Barnack.
After the tour of the Ernst Leitz Museum, you are invited to explore all the areas again for yourself and put what you have learned into practice at the photo stations. Your tour guide will stay close by and will be available to answer any further questions you may have.
To take full advantage of the museum's offerings, you will need the Leitz Park app, which you can download free of charge from the App Store or the Google Play Store. The tour is also recommended for children who already own a smartphone.
